The way I see it...
How ya'll is? It's July, right here in the middle of show season and man am I stoked! I finally got to get our of the house without the youngun's and hit a show, and it was just what I needed! I was giddy as a school-boy on the way up I-35 to Low Down Show Down, it's the first show I've been able to make it to this year and dammit, NOTHING WAS GOING TO STOP ME AND THE WIFE FROM GETTING THERE!
We rolled into town at about 8 on Friday and met up with the first wave of my EC brothers and sisters at the motel and kicked it in the parking lot. I got to see most of the folks I don't get to see too often and
others that I had never actually met, except in the SSM chat, I didn't realize just how big this club has gotten till then!
It was on like donkey-kong hanging with my boy Jokr, droppin' some Skweegee luv, playing Russian Roulette with a cap gun or hearing about the stuff that had happened on their way out from Shreveport. My other
homies Stevie and Dennis, OLB to those in the know, and came all the way out from FLORIDA, said that Jokr was talking, as non-chalant as you please, to an elderly gent while wearing his FUCK ME LEAVE ME t-shirt. Also, watching Jokr try to get everyone to take a hit off his 100 proof (correct me if I'm wrong on the content bro!) Rumpel or whatever they were calling it, I just know that shit was POWERFUL!!
After a good time hanging at the motel, we decided it was time to go get some grub and I've got to give my boy Stevie props on running off the people in the booth across from us at the Denny's. I have never
seen that happen before, and we weren't even talking to or about them! And what about that hopped-up-on-speed-crack-fiend waitress that we
had??!! DAYUM!
Well, after a good night's sleep, it was time to head out to the show, and what a day it was! This was the first LDSD that I have been too in the last 3 years that it didn't rain! The turn-out was high, the rides
were the usual high calibre and there were lots of vendors to take some money from you, but the most important thing about LDSD is the WET T-SHIRT CONTEST!! And what a contest it was! Not only were the girls giving you a lil' bit of EVERYTHING (AND I MEAN EVERYTHING!!)the jams were pumpin something FIERCE from the old skool!
This was just what this overworked, underpaid and definitely under-appreciated minitrucker needed, and I would like to thank the crew from Lower Level for putting on yet another bad ass show that is from the
minitruckers for the minitruckers!!
Now onto my sometimes rambling and incoherent pissin' and moanin' that I get to immerse you folks in on a monthly basis. Where all are the good shows going? From what I keep hearing, Pigeon Forge will be no more before too long, but who's fault is that? The town and the local law enforcement or the handful of drunken ignorant minitruckers that created the need for them to be there? I hate to say it, but it's a
50/50 thing going on there.
What shows are YOU, dear reader, planning on hitting during the remainder of this show season? I can suggest one (shameless plug), Explicit Concepts' Toppin' It All Off 2K2 at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas July 19-21. Ahhhh, but that's the same weekend as that OTHER show you're saying...true, but that OTHER show is not being thrown for the same reason that TIAO 2K2 is...TIAO 2K2 is being thrown for the love of the game and it is being thrown BY MINITRUCKERS FOR MINITRUCKERS! I don't know what that OTHER show stands for, but EC is just trying to show the minitruckin' world that you can have a big show
and have fun doing it and still have it be AFFORDABLE, how amazing is that??
Until next month, please don't drink and drive, keep 'em rubber side down and most important, KEEP YOUR WHEELS SPINNIN' AND THE BEAVERS GRINNIN'!
